Many industrial sectors such as automotive, healthcare, communication demand embedded or autonomous systems capable of delivering services increasingly diverse and sophisticated and requiring ever more computing power within a constrained power budget. The advent of new processor architectures called manycore, both energy efficient and highly effective open new fields of applications in embedded systems but also in HPC. Associating DSP, FPGA and CPU qualities, Kalray's manycore is an example of a versatile system on chip which can be used to implement new machine architectures which are needed to optimize the cost of the travelling bits along the system, in terms of energy used, without compromising the computing power.
